Case in point, meeting Dave's cousins' baby for the first time last week. After a night in Perth, we were rushing around trying to organise getting home so that we could feed pup and clean the house and do a load of washing and then walk the dog and then get ready for work the next day. You get the picture. We were frantically running around and didn't stop to slow down, enjoy the time that we got to spend with loved ones and enjoy the drive to the hospital together. It wasn't until the little man (the baby, not Dave!) was in my arms that I stopped, looked and appreciated. What a freakin' miracle. This tiny, two day old bubby was absolutely perfect. The most tiny fingers and toes I have ever seen in my life, making small coo-ing noises with his mouth and occasionally opening his eyes and taking it all in - I was absolutely floored.
So this is your e-reminder to stop, breathe and look around you. Open your eyes and make an effort to be explicitly aware of all the amazing and beautiful things that make up your environment. Don't take one thing for granted. Be amazed and be in awe. It is how we should be every minute of every day.
Just a small 'teaser' sample today because I have a challenge for you all! I want you to, during your normal day to day doings, take a few moments every few hours and spend them in awe of something. It could be something as simple as looking at your fingerprint and realising how dang unique you are; or taking a quick stroll outside and looking at the different shapes and textures of the clouds. Anything that captures your attention or catches your eye - go with it.
Spend a few seconds in awe every single day and watch how much more beauty and wonder you attract.
