SHARE THE LOVE - Apps for the Eco Conscious

I'm always on the lookout for resources, apps, features, articles and anything at all that might make our 'ethical consumption' of products and services a little easier! So when I came across the GoodGuide app on iTunes - I let our a little (fair trade and organic) squeal.

The Good Guide app equips consumers to make green, earth friendly and ethical decisions when out and about. Quick and easy to use - it's pretty spiffy.

Found here

I found this baby last week and am yet to use it at the shops BUT have had a bit of a browse and am so impressed by how comprehensive this free app is! It assigns a value (from 1 to 10) for each and every product featured to reflect how they stack up in the areas of health, environment and society. Health looks at the potential health hazards of the ingredients within the products; Environment looks at the environmental impact of the product (the company's compliance with environmental policies, practices and performance) and Society scores reflect the company's social policies and practices (fair trade; animal welfare; human rights etc).

The app covers an impressive 210, 000 products. These products are divided across separate categories such as skin care, oral care, food (pet food too!), household, kids and makeup.

I can't wait to take this little baby with me on my next big shop. Would this be something that you/your family would benefit from?

Blessings and a trolley full of kindness and ethics x

SHARE THE LOVE - A Video to Inspire and Spark Change

THIS video is incredible. This week's edition of MarieTv was such a doozy. Full of incredible theory, practical strategies and incredibly valuable lessons in the arena of personal growth and change. I am such an advocate of goal setting and transformation but, truth be told, I'm someone that often comes up against significant resistance and self-sabotage style avoidance whenever I initially set my goals. Sometimes I power through and am a woman of my word and other times I fall flat on mah face. Marie Forleo and the oh so spunky Todd Herman have shed some light on this (and so divinely timed as I plan to embark of a pretty transformative few months - thanks universe for having my back, again!) and explain the difference between the opposing mindsets when we are faced with change.

Today's 'Share the Love' post is all about this fab video - so that's it from me. Short and sweet my darlings.

I suggest you get comfy and watch it immediately - if not sooner.

Blessings and lots of screaming from my 'ow' brain x

My Year as a Blogger - lessons learnt + proudest moments.

Found here.

January marks the first birthday of my little blog baby and, as I am yet to share the exact experiences that having a child brings, I'm sure this botchy analogy will possess a few generalisations - just bare with me.

The first few weeks/months were fun and exciting as I learnt the ins and outs of blogging and 'found my feet' as I got back into my writing. There were some times I thought I had overcommited and was a big ole fraud - cue my tears as I sobbed to David 'I don't even know what I'm talking about' and 'No one even cares if I write so why should I?'. Then there were the proud as punch 'mama moments' that set my heart alight. My blog was growing, being appreciated, changing and encouraging change in myself and being recognised by my peers and mentors. I've had days and, on occasion, weeks where I didn't feel like writing and wondered if I would ever get the spark back. I did and it always does, but it waivers from time to time and I know that these cycles are just a part of life and who am I to ruffle those divine feathers?

Over the past 12 months I have learnt a tonne of lessons - about myself, blogging, my community, my friends and family, the planet and all sorts of fun shiz. I have also had a few moments that has inspired so much pride and feelings of accomplishment as I potter along defining my own path and establishing my work in the blogosphere. So, without further ado, here are my lessons learn and proudest moments for my first year as a blogger -

1// It takes time. I am a busy girl, who loves to be busy, who loves productivity and who loves getting a lot of shiz done. As I am sure those of you who are regular BTM visitors have realised - I sometimes go MIA for a while. Time management and efficiency are must and some days I am a little sloppy. But s'all good - I'm still learning.

2// It takes passion and inspires passion. In a similar vein to time - if I'm not feeling it, the words just won't come. It takes passion to get me to the computer or my journal and get writing. After a writing sesh though - it inspires passion and leaves me with a sort of writer's high. Endorphins a go go.

3// It encourages self actualisation and authenticity. I think that writing almost everyday is a really incredible tool for uncovering more about yourself and tapping into your true potential and divine self. Without getting to fru fru - I honestly believe that writing unlocks your unconscious and encourages true self expression. What can be more powerful than uncovering that?!

4// It has attracted incredible people into my life. The networks that has arisen from my interactions with other bloggers, foodies, health coaches and life lovers is just incredible (I'm looking at you Soulpreneurs) and I have developed such beautiful friendships along the way. The support, mentoring and love shown to me by my incredible inspirations such as my blog coach Rachel Macdonald (of In Spaces Between), my gorgeous friend and transformation leader Jessica Ainscough (of the Wellness Warrior) and the incredibly inspiring Tara Bliss (of Such Different Skies) to name a few - is so profound and something I truly treasure. Special mention to Emily Ehlers, Claire Baker and the beautiful Anna Oglvie who have also been my little posse of inspiration and positivity.

and

5// It has strengthened my relationships with the amazing people who were already in my life. Through my blogging and over my journey - I have learnt so much about my own values, priorities and practicing extreme gratitude for all the blessings in my life. My friends and family will always, and have always been, my greatest blessing and my number one priority. I didn't know it was possible to love people as much and as wholly as I do now but hooley dooley it's an incredible thing to experience. I am hand-over-heart the luckiest girl to have the support network that I have and such incredible humans in my life. Mush over, tears wiped, but you guys are awesome.

6// If it doesn't feel right - don't force it baby. This little nugget o' wisdom is true about love, bowel movements and blogging. If you're not feeling it - don't make it something it's not and don't force it. I have days when blogging is the last thing on my mind and just the thought of tapping away at the keys stresses me and makes me uneasy. I never want writing to feel anything less than joyful so if my heart says no, my laptop stays shut. Except for when I want to YouTube Channing Tatum dances - then the lid pops right up again.

7// Being featured on the Wellness Warrior. This was the proudest moment for me as a blogger. Being recognised for my writing and being shared by someone who has been a pinacle source of inspiration and kindness was just incredible. I will never forget the smile on my face the morning I logged on and saw my post on Jess's website. For those of you who never caught it - click here to see. Eeee!

8// My incredible interviews and Inspiring Souls for 2013. This was by far my favourite segment on the blog and allowed me to connect with all sorts of amazing and inspiring women in the community (this year I'm wanting to continue with this segment but boost the male input so come on fellas - get around it!). Interviewees have included - Georgia Hurst, Billi Ingram, Jessica Ainscough & Laura Campbell. Keep your eyes peeled for a few more over the coming weeks.

So my little love monkeys - that's it. Heart on sleeve, pearls of wisdom and gratitude aplenty for this seniorita.

I can't wait to disclose a little more about what's in store for BTM in 2014. Expect a post in the next few days.

I can't finish this post without acknowledging however just how grateful I am for YOU. My readers, friends, supporters and followers who allow me to write and share things that I am passionate about. Thank you for celebrating my first year with me and cheers to many more together. You're amazing.

Blessings and buckets of gratitude coming out my ears x

LEARNING MORE ABOUT ME...

I am a complete sucker for personality tests and anything that starts to unpack what drives me, what motivates me and what my 'essence' is all about...

Enter my latest batch o' results and scores from the Enneagram Institute - designed to suss out what your predominant personality type is and to encourage personal growth and awareness. Sounds exactly like my cup of tea.

As always, eclectic Emily was a mix of oh-so-many. According to their free online sampler test - I am part Helper; Investigator, Achiever, Enthusiast and Peacemaker.

THE HELPER
Enneagram Type Two

Enneagram Two

The Caring, Interpersonal Type:
Generous, Demonstrative, People-Pleasing, and Possessive

So what's a Two all about?

Twos are empathetic, sincere, and warm-hearted. They are friendly, generous, and self-sacrificing, but can also be sentimental, flattering, and people-pleasing. They are well-meaning and driven to be close to others, but can slip into doing things for others in order to be needed. They typically have problems with possessiveness and with acknowledging their own needs. At their Best: unselfish and altruistic, they have unconditional love for others.
  • Basic Fear: Of being unwanted, unworthy of being loved
  • Basic Desire: To feel loved
  • Enneagram Two with a One-Wing: "Servant"
  • Enneagram Two with a Three-Wing: "The Host/Hostess"
Key Motivations: Want to be loved, to express their feelings for others, to be needed and appreciated, to get others to respond to them, to vindicate their claims about themselves.

The Meaning of the Arrows (in brief)

When moving in their Direction of Disintegration (stress), needy Twos suddenly become aggressive and dominating at Eight. However, when moving in their Direction of Integration (growth), prideful, self-deceptive Twos become more self-nurturing and emotionally aware, like healthy Fours.

Examples and famous Twos: Paramahansa Yogananda, Pope John XXIII, Guru Ammaji (“The Hugging Saint”), Byron Katie, Bishop Desmond Tutu, Eleanor Roosevelt, Nancy Reagan, Monica Lewinsky, Ann Landers, Mary Kay Ash (Mary Kay Cosmetics), Leo Buscaglia, Richard Simmons, Luciano Pavarotti, John Denver, Lionel Richie, Stevie Wonder, Barry Manilow, Dolly Parton, Josh Groban, Music of Journey, Bobby McFerrin, Kenny G, Paula Abdul, Priscilla Presley, Elizabeth Taylor, Danny Thomas, Martin Sheen, Jennifer Tilly, Danny Glover, Richard Thomas “John Boy Walton,” Juliette Binoche, Arsenio Hall, Timothy Treadwell “Grizzly Man,” “Melanie Hamilton Wilkes” (Gone with the Wind), “Eve Harrington” (All About Eve), “Dr. McCoy” (Star Trek)

What did the test reveal for you? The profile above fits me to a 't'. Ridic on the money! Take the test and share below!

FEED ME MONDAY - The Christmas Wishlist Edition

A very special 'happy Monday' to you all as, not only is it a fabulous and fresh start Monday but it's also the first Monday of the festive season! Bless this Mess is going to go all 'jingle bells' on yo' asses. Prepare yourselves for an influx of Christmas recipes; gift ideas for loved ones; my own Christmas wish list; Christmas references coming out the wazoo and Elf quotes a-plenty! This is in addition to the usual pop-up posts from week to week. Holy excitment batman.

I'm going to kick it off with the first of a series of recipe posts this season. This is my 'to make' wishlist of Christmas yummies. All beautiful, decadent, yummy, as well as the added benefit of being eco and health conscious!

Every year I help (in a sometimes very minimal way) to contribute to the Christmas culinary shenanigans. Last year I made an array of healthy deserts including 'choc chip' cookies and festively decorated raw brownies. This year I am going to tackle this bad boy courtesy of 'Raw Mom'. Raw Christmas Cakes - individually portioned to make them ideal for an after dinner (slash feast) treat or as gifts. My beautiful mama always makes individual boiled fruit cakes for friends and family, so this year I'm thinking that daughter dearest might shake up this tradition.

Image sourced from this Life Changing Events post

Have you ever seen anything so adorable? I can't wait to whip these up. I need to come up with a fun, festive and, of course, sustainable way of presenting these guys. I am on a mission to source short little jars (think candle jars) and tying twine around the top for a rustic sort o' feel. Or candy cane striped ribbon. Or red and green intertwined string...

OH HOW I LOVE CHRISTMAS TIME!

What is on your 'to bake' (or in the raw case - to assemble!) list for this holiday season?!

YOGA + CREATIVITY - The Four Week Adventure to Unlock my Creative Prowess

I spent my 25th birthday solo, for the most part, as I gifted myself the day off and spent it doing whatever the heck I wanted to. And, as we all know, an unintentional byproduct of 'alone time' is often extra time dedicated to thinking, dreaming and scheming. So that's how I spent mah birthday!

What I really wanted to do was uncover a word (or three) that summarised what I chose to focus on in my year ahead. I sort of meditated on that thought, in an effort to listen in on what 'inner Emily' most wanted, and they were -

+ Creativity
+ Alignment/Balance and
+ Authenticity

Authenticity and alignment had come up for me before but 'creativity'?! Girlfriend cannot even manage a paint by numbers! Why the heck would I ever pursue my creative side (or lack there of)? But, I accepted that it had come up for me, and respected that this something that 'inner Emily' wanted. Who am I to argue with that babe? Of course, as the universe has a habit of doing, all things creativity came in hot and heavy. It was discussed in my books, resources for developing creativity in my writing seemed to pop up at every turn, even at my Speech Pathology clinic there seemed to be an abundance of 'creative ventures' suddenly appear! Oh and did I mentioned I just happened to turn on the ABC one night and see an episode in a series on 'Brain Training' and, yep you guessed it, the episode was dedicated to learning how to expand your creative genius.

So with my goal word firmly ingrained in my mind, I set off about my life, learning when it came up and taking opportunities whenever they arose. And then I met Lacey Haynes. Lacey was the guest speaker at the beautiful Passions & Possibilities event hosted by the gorgeous Emily Ehlers. Lacey spoke about passion, yoga, shared her stories, spoke on creativity and led a group meditation. I.was.entranced. And it wasn't just her freakin' adorable Canadian accent (I have never ever felt more calm during a meditation in my life. She has a gift. And a good accent for it. But mostly it's the 'gift' thing). After mingling and nibbling on raw desserts, I eventually crossed paths with Lacey and we shared hellos and chatted about travel and yoga and the possibility of Lacey running a workshop in the South West (!!). THEN she dropped a bombshell, and unknowingly added another mark on the tally for Universal Intervention vs Emily, and revealed that she was about to launch an e-book called 'Yoga and Creativity'.

Which brings me to the true purpose of this post (a full 3 paragraphs later but you know I'm a talker so y'all will forgive me I'm sure) - my new creative adventure. The Yoga and Creativity e-Book launched on Tuesday and I scooped it up (new age translation - clicked & downloaded) within a nanosecond of Lacey's email.

Lacey explains 'Why Yoga and Creativity?'
"Yoga and creativity are so meant for each other. Creativity is your truest essence and yoga is the path to put you in touch with these deepest layers of who you are. The more you unfold your body and mind, the more the creative juices flow. Throughout this guidebook, you'll be challenged to face your creative fears and blockages all in the name of freeing up space so that you can connect with who you truly are."

The guide gives you options and suggested time frames for completing the program - 4 week intensive; play and go at your own pace or a 6 hour yoga and creativity day of bliss! I opted for the 4 weeks - to really explore each section thoroughly and not leave creative stone unturned.

This week has kicked off with a beautiful yoga practice; focus on my throat chakra (the chakra for communication and creativity) and a whole lot of off-key singing! It was been so much fun. A real 'key lesson' for me in this whole process has been something that Lacey addresses early on in her guide -

"It is important to remember that creativity and talent are not synonymous. What you need is to be curious and believe that there is a creative world inside of you."

Want this incredible book and to uncover the best ways to expand your yoga and creativity practice? Then head over to the Yoga and Creativity homepage and get your journey started girlfren'. Just incase people were wondering - I am lucky enough to be an affiliate for this incredible program, but wanted you all to know that I happily agreed to this as I absolutely adored this book and it's message from the get go, and would never ever endorse something that I didn't believe in or support wholeheartedly.

Blessings, back bends, songs about lunch and a creative tigress ready to be released x

NUGGETS O' WISDOM FROM ROBERT HOLDEN'S "AUTHENTIC SUCCESS" - The 'Potential' Edition

You may remember that I posted the first chapter synopsis of Robert Holden's 'Authentic Success' a few weeks ago and that I promised I would be back soon to serve you up another inspirational chunk of meaty, quotey goodness. And this afternoon, as I lounged on our day bed with the spring sun shining on through the windows, I thought 'why the hell not share it on Fuzzy Friday?'. So here I am!

Potential
Image found here

+ Not in the clamour of the crowded street, not in the shouts and plaudits of the throng, but in ourselves are triumph and defeat
+ Every person in the custodian of a vast potential. Innate potential has two poles: heaven and hell, light and dark, joy and sorrow ...
+ Your goal is to find out who you are
+ Every successful person has been helped by someone who believed in his or her potential
+ The better you know yourself - what you value, what inspires you, what you are made of - the more effectively you will live, work and relate to others
+ Knowing others is intelligence, knowing yourself is true wisdom
+ The self principle states: the quality of your relationship with yourself determines the quality of your relationship with success, happiness, love, God, money, time, health, luck and everything
+ Success is a state of mind
+ What is possible and what is not? How do you know?
+ What you believe will be how you live.
+ Be careful what you choose to think, because you will not go higher than your thoughts
+ The most important conversations you hold in life are the ones you hold with yourself. Your own inner dialogue is an important key to success

THINGS THAT, IF THEY WERE HUMAN, I WOULD MARRY IN A HEARTBEAT ...

My current crush list includes:

+ This incredible video that truly captures the precious and delicate nature of our lives. Thank you Anna you gorgeous girl, for showcasing it.

+ Mother flippin' tahini. Either my eggo is preggo or I have just added another 180 turnaround on taste preferences (joining the ranks of banana, porridge, mango, ginger and a million more that now light up my palate!).

+ My beautiful spring morning routine. Including daily goddess card readings. P.S. everything on the horizon is looking swell, thank you for asking!

+ My serendipitous encounter with a game-changing book during my coffee stop in this week at Mana Kai. I was so engrossed that I stayed sitting and reading for an hour and eventually asked if I could borrow it for the night. Dan Millman, you are incredible. EEEEE!

+ This raw insight into the first step of Kris Carr's inspiring journey. I fell in love so hard with her and her mission and story after watching this. Goosebumps.

+ Lorde and her freakin' incredible music.

NUGGETS O' WISDOM FROM ROBERT HOLDEN'S "AUTHENTIC SUCCESS" - The Visionary Edition

You know those books that, once you read them, you’re left transformed? Whether it has modified a certain way of thinking, it’s inspired you to pursue a dream or interest, has made you laugh out loud and has changed your energy and demeanour for the next x amount of weeks or in whatever way, big or small. Well, that happened. I unknowingly picked up a book, at my gorgeous little local store, merely thinking ‘that looks interesting’ and off I went. Over the next few weeks, errynight, I immersed myself in the incredible words of Mr Holden.

Title: Authentic Success
Author: Robert Holden (Director of Success Intelligence and Happiness Project).
In a Nutshell: Redefining what we consider to be ‘successful’ living. Infused with soulful and inspiring tidbits, incredible case studies and nuggets of wisdom.

Because this book is oh-so-incredible and wise, I am breaking it down into bite sized chunks so as to ensure you read, reflect and remember the beautiful pieces of soulful wisdom. As I read, I highlighted those quotes and pieces of information that leapt of the page, and I inadvertently created a perfect, transformative little collection o' words. Each chapter brought with in a whole new bombardment of insightful thoughts into 'success' and how we perceive and achieve it. So, without further ado, I'm going to kick off our successful journey and dive right into the first chapter of 'Vision'...

Vision

Image found here

+ Stopping is a way to connect again to your vision, wisdom and purpose
+ It is an age old habit of human beings to run faster when we have lost our way
+ Heal the culture of death by overwork; death of creativity; death of talent; death of fresh ideas
+ More heart in your business/work/life
+ Your goal is not to maximise productivity, it's to be more valuable
+ A model of success is need - a model that knows that success is primarily a way of being, not just a shopping list.
+ At school, I was taught lots of facts and how to pass a test, but not how to create vision, discover a purpose and lead a successful life
+ Permanent busyness blocks vision. Leaders are not meant to be permanently busy. Leaders are the custodians of vision
+ It is only when we let go of our busyness that vision returns, inspiration appears and a new level of true success is available
+ Busyness is what you give your time to, a purpose is what you give your heart to

"Where there is no vision, people perish"
Proverbs 29:18

MESOTHELIOMA AWARENESS DAY - A Story of True Healing and Advocacy

A few weeks ago I was contacted by a lady called Heather who shared her story with me in hopes to raise awareness of the disease that has challenged her and her family over the past few years. I was happy to help out in whatever way possible and promised her that I would share her cause with you all. Then I sat down and read her story, start to end, watched her story, and got to know this health and life crusador a little better. What an incredible woman. You too can learn more about Heather, about her battle with Mesothelioma and about how she has overcome these hardships to become a 'voice for the victims' and dedicate her life to fight for those suffering in silence.

It only takes a few moments of your time - please click here to read Heather's story and please help to spread the message by sharing this post with everyone you know. Together we can support Heather and the incredible survivors, fighters and sufferers and, hopefully, raise awareness of this life threatening disease.

CH-CH-CHANGES.

I sincerely hope this post finds you all well and all 'chomping at the bit' (that sounds filthy, and I apologise, but I'm sticking with it) to get your weekend plans into full swing. Yes, I have a long weekend because I have a monthly Friday off for 'wellness reasons' and I plan on selfishly and unashamedly indulging tomorrow!

Just a quick stop by as the clinic is absolutely hectic today - but wanted to let you know of some changes that you can expect to see over the next few weeks here at Bless This Mess.

SUNDAY NIGHT - Point/s to Ponder
Oh how I love me an alliteration! But 'point/s to ponder' is so much more than just a repetitious and harmonious sounding string of 'p' sounds! It's your weekly 'white space' check in. Your e-reminder to block out the shit, centre yourself, and clear some much needed space in that busy and over productive head of yours! Each Sunday night a quote, image or mantra will pop up on the blog and prompt you to silently reflect and recharge. I'll splash things around a bit and will make sure there's a bit of variety. But get ready to get your Zen on. Think of it as a more direct, less wafty 'Fuzzy Friday' style of post but at the start of the week to ensure that injection of inspiration gets right to your core!

PRODUCT REVIEWS and RECOMMENDATIONS
I'm talking food stuffs, skin care, make up, house hold items, books, films and everything in between that we can utilise in our 'kind lives'. I will do a bit of a feature and break down of 'go to' items and things I'm loving.

So how does that sound lovelies? Just a few of the changes that are a'comin this month.

As always I still want to know and hear from YOU! What else would you like to see on the blog?

Blessings and changes galore x

MY 30 DAY NUTRITIONAL CLEANSE - A Reflection on and Review of my Experiences

Those of you who follow the blog, know me personally or have seen my annoyingly food/fitness/positivity related posts on instagram know that I am, what the French call ‘le health nut’. I love to make healthy choices, erryday, that I know will benefit my mind, body and soul. We only get one body and I have chosen to cherish, honour and bless my little ole temple.

Recently I was introduced to a nutritional cleanse system called Isagenix – a natural and plant derived cleansing program that was marketed as something to ‘give my insides a shower’. Truth time. As healthy as I am, the majority of the time, I don’t always shop organic, I indulge in red wine and ‘treat meals’ from time to time and I live in an environment in which I’m exposed to pollutants, chemicals and pesticides every day. My body was as clean as I could have kept it, but I decided that maybe I should call for back up when it came to flushing out the nasties. I, as always, had my sceptical spectacles on and wasn’t convinced about the health claims and results that it boasted. But after chatting with the lovely Peta Kelly, owner and director of Life By My Own Design (LBMOD), she gently chatted me through the ingredients and nutritional and healing properties of each and every single item in my delivery that I automatically felt relieved and excited to get started.

The 30 day cleanse works by structuring each day into ‘cleanse’ and ‘shake’ days. My hazard bells went off as soon as I heard ‘shake’ but again, after an explanation of the live enzymes, plant derived proteins, carbohydrates and good fats in these bad boys, I felt that I was safe. And they were delish. Seriously. Never had to force one down and never thought ‘oh I wish I didn’t have to have these shakes’. Ideally they encourage 2 shakes daily (a 250calorie and nutritionally complete meal replacement); clean snacks; a clean and preferably organic meal and a lot o’ water. In addition to this, my President’s Pak, also came with Ageless Active, Women’s essentials, Natural accelerator and Ionix. Oh gee wiz bang did I miss my Ionix when I ran out in the final week of my cleanse. This drink contains a staggering amount of adaptogens, which are responsible for significantly reducing cellular stress. They literally encourage your body to ‘adapt’ to your environment so a shot in the morning tells your body that it’s time to get up and go; a shot at night tells your body to calm down and promotes a better nights’ sleep.

Cleanse days, initially to me, were my Everest - this big, scary thing that I had to conquer but felt completely overwhelmed by. That is, until I actually did one. And loved it. And did a few more. And LOVED them.  By my 4th, and final cleanse, I felt so dang good (and energetic believe it or not) by the end of the day that I really wanted to do the ‘double’ and go again the next day. Only issue was that I was out on the Cleanse for Life powder and my fate had been decided, I would have to wait. But this ritual of having one cleanse day a week (and a double chucked in every now and again for good measure), will definitely be one that I’ll continue. Out of the entire programme and nutritional cleanse products, THIS is what resonated with me, that my body responded to and that I will continue to include in my routine.

Don’t get me wrong, the other products are great and I never once had any issue with them. But when I had them, my body liked it, but it didn’t LOVE it. If I really listened to it, and what it craved and benefited from the most, it was the cleansing powder (and cleanse days in general), the Ionix (liquid gold) and the shakes (on days following a cleanse).  These are the products that I am continuing with following my 30 day cleanse and these are the ones I’ll continue to treat my body with as I, no doubt, continue to strive for perfect and optimal health.

However I would have to say that the biggest impact and catalyst for transformation, from my perspective, is the tribe of amazing individuals that you are linked in with who are loving, and openly sharing their experiences with the Isagenix products. Everyone is so positive and encouraging and honest about their journeys, their goals and experiences that it has been an absolute pleasure to see how everyday people have and are transforming their lives. I love me a good ‘before/after’ shot and boy oh boy did they come in hard and fast on the facebook group. Women and men of all ages sharing their stories, their transformations and their newly found confidence and ‘sparkle’ – well that was by far the most incredible and inspiring thing for this health nut to be witness to and be a part of (in some small way).

I came into the cleanse with hopes for a ‘washout’ of all the nasties and an internal ‘shower’ that helped to detoxify me. I was well aware, however, that my lifestyle and habits were already pretty dang good, with definite slip ups and a huge advocacy for everything in moderation, I feel that I have a solid knowledge and appreciation for what health looks and feels like for me. When I started the cleanse, I was already eating a relatively ‘clean diet’, I wasn’t having processed foods, I wasn’t really eating anything that wasn’t in it’s ‘whole state’ and I wasn’t (ever) consuming things without being completely aware of what I was taking into my body. On a plus side, I didn’t have ANY issues at all with the taste of any of the products (with Ionix and the shakes reportedly being a more acquired taste because they were more of an alkalising food and they didn’t have the flavours of sugars, artificial sweeteners or additives that our taste buds have become accustomed to). But on the flip side, I didn’t really have ‘well blow me down’ obvious results from the cleanse and products. The first few days, when a lot of people report starting to ‘feel a change’ as their bodies detoxify and are cleansed with natural, live foods, I carried about as normal. My only change was adding a shiz load of water to my day. My body was already fairly alkaline and it’s been almost 12 months to get me here.

I think, looking back on it, that’s why cleanse days are what have ‘grabbed’ me. These offer me an opportunity to deeply cleanse, at a cellular level, and replenish and reinforce all the good I am doing day to day during the week.

My results? Well after having banished my scales a few years ago (concluding that my worth can NOT be summarised by a number) – I had to rely on my ole faithful measuring tape. Measurements are taken from all over your body at the start of the cleanse and you do them again on day 5 and again on day 30. Overall I lost 31cm from around my body. The majority coming off my thighs and boobies (if you know me, you know this is a GOOD thing).  My cellulite has reduced significantly, and I have never been one to have too much ‘jiggle’ but I have definitely noticed a difference on my thighs with nil dimples to be found (I was so excited when I noticed this that I showed my dimple-less thighs to my sister, much to her disproval, while she sat unawares watching TV last weekend). My energy and sleep, post cleanse day, was incredible. To be honest, on ‘shake days’ I didn’t notice too much of a change in energy, sleep, skin or other ‘wellness’ domains but I really did feel it on and after my cleanse ones. But, each to their own, we gotta love, respect and appreciate bioindividuality. Some people thrive on things that my body doesn’t and vice versa.

I can’t finish my review without doing a wee little shout-out to the best part of the program (hehe). Green tea infused, clean, dark chocolate. Oh hooley dooley. The best bit about this tasty delight is that you can have them on cleanse days, guilt free, and with a delish cup o’ organic herbal tea. I absolute love this chocolate and will happily offer anyone a taste who is keen (but only one, because I love them so and don’t want to be without).

So, this very long, very open and honest review was written with my heart on my sleeve. It’s hard to capture in a single post what the products are about, what my experiences and results have been, and what I have learnt (both good and bad) during my wellness journey (within the past 30 days and beyond).

If you have ANY questions at all, or want to ask really nicely and would like to see my before and after picture … It’s an undie shot that I’m not willing to show on this forum as I chose the most inappropriate of underwear (yes, I’m a bonehead), please email me via blessthismess@hotmail.com.au.

Blessings, love, cuddles and a 30 days worth o’ green teabags in my bin x

SHARE THE LOVE

"If you want to be responsible, keep your promises to others.
If you want to be successful, keep your promises to yourself."

I think I've touched on my absolute love and adoration of Marie Forleo - a kickass business and life coach who has so much sassy energy that you can't help but be swept up in her exciting momentum - but I am bringing your attention to her again today. She struck a cord with me this morning. BIG TIME. In her latest vid via MarieTV, her youtube channel dedicated to all things business and life, she discusses the concept of 'Following Through'. I am a multi passionate, million projects on the go, hundreds of balls in the air, kind of girl. The repetitive cycle of starting a project wide eyed and overly ambitious, only to later lose that 'drive' and motivation, is unfortunately all too familiar to me. This video breaks down the hows and whys in seeing a project from Go to Woe (woe is completion in this little scenario, y'all feel me?). Watch, love, share, jot notes, be inspired and have a happy hump day.

Blessings from my inspired and invigorated soul x
